Project Title: NYS DEC Lost Pond Reclamation

Location: Lost Pond in the Town of Brighton, New York.

For Adirondack Park Agency: Comment Period Ends: August 11, 2016

Project Description: The project involves the application of the pesticide Prenfish Toxicant™ (Active Ingredient: 5% Rotenone) to remove golden shiners in Lost Pond. Upon natural degradation of the toxicant, the lake will then be stocked to establish a native brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) population. This will be the second reclamation of Lost Pond with a previous reclamation undertaken in 1969. The project is in compliance with the Guidelines for Fisheries Management in Wilderness, Primitive, and Canoe Areas (Adopted by the Adirondack Park Agency on April 26, 1990 and Amended on July 10, 1992).

Project Title: NYS DEC Embody Pond Reclamation

Location: Embody Pond in the Town of Santa Clara, New York.

For Adirondack Park Agency: Comment Period Ends: August 18, 2016

Project Description: The project involves the application of the pesticide Prenfish Toxicant™ (Active Ingredient: 5% Rotenone) to remove yellow perch from Embody Pond. The lake will be stocked to establish a native brook trout population upon natural degradation of the toxicant. This will be the second reclamation of Embody Pond with a previous reclamation undertaken in 1958. The project is in compliance with the Guidelines for Fisheries Management in Wilderness, Primitive, and Canoe Areas (Adopted by the Adirondack Park Agency on April 26, 1990 and Amended on July 10, 1992).


Notice of Acceptance of Final SEIS

Essex County - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA), as lead agency, has accepted a Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Map Amendment 2016-01. The Final SEIS is available from the APA, 1133 NYS Route 86, Ray Brook, NY 12977 and on line at: www.apa.ny.gov.

The action involves a proposed amendment to the Official Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map to reclassify an approximately 80 acre area from Rural Use to Low Intensity Use. The project is located along Campion Way in the Town of St. Armand, New York.
