Project Description:

The applicant is proposing to install and operate one (1) 8-inch diameter commercial supply well for laundromat services. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a new permit for an existing discharge of 6,800 gallons per day of treated laundromat wastewater to groundwater from a primary treatment system at the applicant's facility located at 717 Hawkins Ave, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY. The applicant plans to operate a laundromat. Refer to this application by the application number listed above and SPDES number, NY 0279838.

The proposed discharge is located in an area designated as a sole source aquifer. The following water purveyors have been identified as having service areas located within a 3-mile radius of the applicant's facility: Suffolk County Water Authority.
