Project Title: Saranac Central School District

Project Location: NY Route 3 approximately 1 mile northeast of Pickets Corner in the Town of Saranac, New York.

Brief Project Description: Saranac Central School District proposes to construct a 90 ± space gravel parking area/bus drop off, athletic fields and access walkway (involving a boardwalk over wetlands) on lands of New York State under the jurisdiction of New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYS DOCCS). The boardwalk over wetlands will involve the installation six helical piles impacting approximately 6 square feet of wetlands and 115 ± square feet of boardwalk over wetlands.


Notice of Acceptance of Supplemental Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Essex County - The Adirondack Park Agency (APA), as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Map Amendment 2016-02. A public hearing on the Supplemental Draft SEIS will be held on August 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Minerva Town Hall, 5 Morse Memorial Highway, Minerva, NY 12851. Written comments on the Supplemental Draft EIS will be accepted until September 2, 2016. A copy of the Draft SEIS is available at the Adirondack Park Agency, 1133 NYS Route 86, Ray Brook, NY 12977 and on line at: www.apa.ny.gov

The action involves the proposed amendment to the Official Adirondack Park Land Use Development Plan Map to reclassify an approximately 6 acre area from Low Intensity Use to Hamlet. The project is located Northwest of intersection of NYS Routes 29 and 30 in the Town of Minerva, New York.
