Shandaken State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Semi-Annual Meeting

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is pleased to announce that the next semi-annual public meeting, held per the Shandaken SPDES permit, will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Schoharie Watershed Office, 6049 Main Street, Tannersville NY. NYC DEP will discuss the progress of activities conducted pursuant to the SPDES permit.

The meeting is open to the public and public input is welcome.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from DF Acquisitions, LLC for a site known as the Former Loudon and Kem Cleaners, site ID #C401060. This site is located in the City of Albany, within the County of Albany, and is located at 350 Northern Boulevard. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than August 19, 2016. A copy of the application and other relevant documents are available at the document repository located at the Albany Public Library, 161 Washington Avenue, Albany. Negative Declaration

Albany County - The Albany Water Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed North Swan Street Green Infrastructure Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. This project is part of a coordinated project with the City of Albany Department of General Services to renew this neighborhood. Specifically, the work of the Albany Water Board entails the replacement of antiquated brick & slate sanitary sewers and the installation of separated storm sewer facilities with appurtenant green infrastructure practices resulting in greater capture and treatment of storm water runoff and part of an effort to reducing combined sewer overflows. The project is located North Swan Street spanning from Clinton Avenue to Livingston Avenue in the City of Albany, Albany County, New York.

Rensselaer County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Troy Sand and Gravel - Tayer Road Mine will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the modification of existing Mined Land Reclamation (MLR) permit to add 0.9 acres to the life of mine and lower 6.6 acres of the mine floor to create 3 ponds. The project is located at Tayer Road, Stephentown, Rensselaer County, NY.

Schoharie County - The Town of Esperance Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Local Law Adopting a New Town-Wide Zoning Law and Zoning Map will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. This action is the consideration and adoption of a new zoning law and map. The existing zoning law was adopted in 1997 and amended in 1998. The current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2008. The new zoning law and map are meant to address recommendations made in the 2008 Comprehensive Plan. The project is located in the Town of Esperance, Schoharie County, NY.
