Shandaken State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Semi-Annual Meeting

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is pleased to announce that the next semi-annual public meeting, held per the Shandaken SPDES permit, will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Schoharie Watershed Office, 6049 Main Street, Tannersville NY. NYC DEP will discuss the progress of activities conducted pursuant to the SPDES permit.

The meeting is open to the public and public input is welcome.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Dutchess County - The Town of Wappinger Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed BJ's Gas Station Project may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on August 1, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wappinger Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappinger Falls, NY 12590. The Town of Wappinger Planning Board has received an application from BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc., for Special Use Permit and Amended Site Development Plan Approvals for the construction of a members-only gasoline filling station with six pumps (12 dispensers), a canopy and a kiosk within an existing parking lot adjacent to the BJ's Wholesale Club. The project is located at 1404 Route 9, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

Orange County - The Town of Goshen Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Orange County Gospel Fellowship may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on a date and time to be determined. The Applicant is proposing to construct a religious church assembly building (480 seats), with an accessory carriage house and associated parking, on a parcel containing 7.1± acres, known as Section 11, Block 1, Lot 100.2 on the Town tax maps. The property is located with frontage along Duck Farm Road and Old Chester Road within the Town of Goshen. The property is in the Rural (RU) district, within the AQ-6, Flood Plain and Ponding Area (FP), Stream Corridor and Reservoir Watershed (SC), and Scenic Road Corridor (SR) Overlay districts. The project is located at Old Chester Road, Goshen, NY.

Notice of Completion of Supplemental Final EIS and Public Hearing

Westchester County - The Town of Mount Pleasant Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Supplemental Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Landmark at Eastview North Campus. A public hearing on the Supplemental Final EIS will be held on August 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. at 1 Town Hall Plaza, Valhalla, NY 10595. Written comments on the Supplemental Final EIS will be accepted until August 14, 2016. A hard copy of the Supplemental Final EIS is available at the Town of Mount Pleasant Town Hall, 1 Town Hall Plaza, Valhalla, NY 10595. The subject Mount Pleasant portion of the Landmark at Eastview contains 66.54 acres (totaling 86.21 acres with the Home Depot lease area). Prior to recent construction, the site contained approximately 281,325 square feet of research and development. In 2011, the Town Planning Board approved an expansion of 440,000 sq. ft. of research and development and issued a Findings Statement. In 2013, the Town Planning Board approved an amended expansion of 297,000 sq. ft. of research and development space. The recently constructed Regeneron research and development buildings are approximately 268,702 sq. ft. The 2011 approval of 440,000 sq. ft. added to the previously existing 281,325 sq. ft. resulting in 721,325 sq. ft. However, of that only 550,027 sq. ft. exists and now 137,110 sq. ft. is proposed to be demolished. The proposed action is associated with an Amended Site Plan Approval to construct 519,520 sq. ft. at this time with multiple buildings and associated parking structures with a new new building area of 211,112 sq. ft. of research and dvelopment. The project is located at 777 Old Saw Mill River Road, Mount Pleasant, NY.
