Project Description:

The applicant is proposing to improve drainage within Sandy Bottom Park. Proposed improvements include the replacement of an undersized culvert, addition if a second 24-inch diameter culvert under an access road and ditching of approximately 330 linear feet to allow the waters to flow more efficiently to the north, away from the lake.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

A cultural resources survey has been completed and cultural resources were identified. Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no adverse impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jun 16, 2016.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to address pavement and operational deficiencies associated with 1.8-miles of County Road (CR) 33 in the Towns of South Bristol and Bristol by:

  • replacing a 30 inch culvert (culvert 71) with a 42 inch culvert;
  • replace a 48 inch culvert (culvert 72) with a 5-foot rise by 10-foot wide box culvert;
  • replace a 54 inch culvert (culvert 76) with a 5-foot rise by 10-foot wide box culvert;
  • install two longitudinal peak stone toe (LPST) fills to control erosion along the foreslope of County Road 33 between stations 104+00 to 108+75 and 118+50 to 119+92.

A total of approximately 590 linear feet of stream disturbance will be associated with the LPST's to stabilize the banks and 105 linear feet of disturbance will be associated with the replacements of Culverts 71, 72, and 76 for a total of approximately 695 linear feet of disturbance.
