Negative Declaration

Cortland County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed McMasters Mine will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a new 7.3 acre sand and gravel mine on a 217 acre parcel owned by Dave McMasters. No blasting is proposed, no impacts to streams, wetlands or protected species is expected. The mine will be reclaimed to stable slopes planted with a conservation seed mix for wildlife habitat and a 6.3 acre pond 15 feet deep. The project is located at 4216 McCloy Road in the Town of Cortlandville, New York.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Tompkins County - The Town of Ithaca Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Maplewood Redevelopment Project may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on June 21, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Ithaca Town Hall, 215 North Tioga Street, Ithaca, NY 14850. The action involves the demolition of the existing Maplewood housing complex and redeveloping the 16 ± acre site with up to 500 residential units (studios to 4 bedroom units) in a mix of townhomes, stacked flats and multi-family apartment buildings. The project will also include some small retail uses, new interior streets, parking areas, pedestrian facilities, open spaces, stormwater facilities and a community center. The project is located between Maple Avenue and Mitchell Street in the High Density Residential (HDR) zone of the Town of Ithaca, New York.
