Project Description:

The applicant intends to modify their permit to allow for the acceptance and storage of a maximum of 150 - 55 gallon drum equivalents inside a storage building with a global secondary containment system. The modification also changes one of their 7500 gallon oily water tanks to a non-hazardous liquid tank and adds an additional 3 - 30 yard rolloffs for solid wastes inside the building and increases the previously permitted C & D rolloffs from 20 to 30 yards. The facility also intends to operate a 10-day exempt transfer area for hazardous wastes. The facility is located at 3010 Burns Avenue, Wantagh, Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, Tax Map Section 56, Block 258, Lot 20.

Approximately 2000 cubic yards of dredge material is proposed to be placed into barges for offsite disposal at an approved upland disposal facility.
