Project Description:

The applicant, Dalrymple Gravel & Contracting Co., Inc is proposing to add an additional 0.8 acre area to the currently approved 52.0 acre life of mine (LOM) at their Van Boven Pit. This sand and gravel mine is located on the South side of River Rd, in the Town of Chemung, approximately 1.0 mile west of Dry Brook Rd. The purpose of this area is to provide a stockpile area outside the current LOM and to load a conveyor system that crosses over Wyncoop Creek to transport material to Dalrymple's Chemung Plant on the south side of I-86 for processing. No mining is proposed in the 0.8 acre expansion area. No other changes in the currently approved methods of mining or hours of operation are proposed.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes existing discharge of 2,500 gallons per day of treated sanitary wastewater to a swale that leads to a tributary to Black Creek from a secondary treatment plant at the applicant's facility located behind the Red Osier Restaurant at 6492 Main Rd, Stafford. The applicant plans to replace the septic system.
The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a SPDES permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation Law. This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statue is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the Department at this time. As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify Department approval or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project. The applicant is proposing the continuation of the maintenance dredging of the marina basin and slips. Approximately 5000 cubic yards of deposited sediment is removed annually. The dredged material is taken to the US Army Corps of Engineers designated open lake management site. A portion of the basin dredging impacts the NYS regulated freshwater wetland RH-9 adjacent area.

Project Description:


The Town of Henrietta, in partnership with the Finger Lakes Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management, are proposing the installation of bethic mats to control a recently discovered invasive submerged aquatic plant species, Hydrilla verticillata. The mats will be installed in areas of infestation based on visual inspection of the approximately 1 acre open-water area. The pond is located within NYS freshwater wetland HR-4.
