The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application and Draft Remedial Action Work Plan from 94th Avenue Jamaica, LLC for a site known as Jamaica 94th Avenue, site ID #C241184. This site is located in the Jamaica neighborhood within the County of Queens, and is located at 147-20 94th Avenue. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than May 28, 2016. A copy of the application, Draft Remedial Action Work Plan, and other relevant documents are available at the document repositories located at: Queens Central Library, 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica; Queens Community Board District 12, 90-28 161st Street, Jamaica; and the NYS DEC - Region 2 Office, 1 Hunter's Point Plaza, 47-20 21st Street, Long Island City. Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Bronx County (Bronx) - The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (NYC HPD), as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed La Central. The Draft EIS is available from the NYC HPD, 100 Gold Street, New York NY 10038 and on line at: http://www1.nyc.gov/site/hpd/developers/environmental-review.page.

The action involves an application to NYC HPD, on behalf of the project sponsor, La Central Manager, LLC, for approval of several discretionary actions intended to redevelop approximately 4.3 acres of currently vacant City owned property in the Melrose neighborhood of the Bronx, New York. By the 2020 build year, the Proposed actions would result in the construction of approximately 1.1 million gross-square-feet of mixed-use development, encompassing five buildings and containing approximately 832 units of affordable housing, approximately 160 units of supportive housing, approximately 46,800 gross square foot of local retail and commercial space, an approximately 50,500 gross square foot YMCA facility, approximately 32,700 gross square foot of other community facility space, public and private open space, and approximately 172 spaces of underground accessory parking. The project is generally bounded by Westchester Avenue, Brook Avenue, Bergen Avenue and East 153rd Street in the Bronx, New York.
