Project Description:

Applicant proposes to remove & relocate the existing single family dwelling and shed on lots 52N & 53N (site A) and abandon sanitary system. The dwelling will be relocated to lots 45N & 46N (site B), which are further upland and less prone to erosion and flooding. A new sanitary system will be installed. Both locations are part of SCTM#300-85-1-42.1, which is within the Lazy Point Community owned by the Town of East Hampton Trustees.

Sites A & B are both within NYSDEC Coastal Erosion Management Jurisdiction (Article 34). Site A is also within NYSDEC Tidal Wetland (Article 25) and Freshwater Wetland (Article 24) jurisdiction. This area will be restored and left vacant.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Apr 21, 2016.

After removing the existing residence and associated residential structures, the applicant proposes to construct a single family dwelling with associated decking, driveway & garage approximately 65 linear feet from a NYSDEC Regulated Freshwater Wetland. The sanitary system will be connected to the Southwest Sewer District. The site is located at #36 5th St, West Islip, Sufolk County (SCTM 0500-457-3-30).
