The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a SPDES permit for a discharge of 15,000 GPD of treated car wash wastewater to groundwater from a treatment system at the facility listed above, located at 4740 Sunrise Highway, Bohemia, NY. Based on a review of the permit application, the permit will be modified to include the following:

  • A schedule of compliance for Short Term High Intensity Monitoring (STHIM) for 'Oil & Grease, and Acetone.
  • A schedule of submittals for STHIM for 'Oil & Grease, and Acetone.'
  • The requirement for Best Management Practice plan.
