Negative Declaration

Chautauqua County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Chautauqua 2 Stand 81.1 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the application of registered herbicides to remove American beech and Hay-scented fern on 73 acres of State forest to create conditions suitable for seed germination and the establishment of desirable commercial timber species. The abundance of these undesirable plant species present on the site are growing at a density that interferes with the development of desirable forest regeneration. Herbicide application is the most effective way to eliminate undesirable plant species that interfere with the development of desirable forest regeneration. The project is located South of Warner Road, North of Wiltsie Road and West of Snake Forest Road in the Town of North Harmony, New York.

Chautauqua County - The City of Jamestown, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed lntermodal Transportation Connector (Bridge) Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The project is part of a larger pedestrian/bicycle transportation plan that seeks to connect residential areas with downtown employment, educational, and recreational and daily needs venues. The project constructs two pedestrian/bicycle bridges that span the Chadakoin River that will serve as a non-motorized transit connection between the south shore of the Chadakoin River and the downtown business district. It will allow a safe access for pedestrians/bicyclists to employment opportunities and daily needs that is American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. The project will effectively adjoin high density neighborhoods on the south side of the river to downtown employment center, government buildings, Jamestown High School, and with entertainment and sporting venues on the north side. The project is located across the Chadakoin River behind 20 Steele Street in the City of Jamestown, New York.
