Negative Declaration

Jefferson County - The Village of Adams, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Water System Improvements Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Village of Adams has experienced significant water shortages in late summer months and has issued mandatory water conservation notices and even water emergencies. Over the past several years, the Village has explored various areas seeking additional water sources and has found four specific targeted areas. The Village of Adams Water System Improvements Project includes the installation of four (4) additional water source wells, three (3) on the Village's Countryview Well Site and one (1) on the Village's Route 11 Well Site. New water main will connect the new water source wells to the existing treatment buildings at each site. Improvements and upgrades to each treatment building will be completed to accommodate the new wells. The project will also include various water main replacements and improvements to existing water mains that are in poor condition as well as coating repairs to the Village's two elevated water storage towers. The project is located in the Village of Adams, New York.
