Draft Lake Durant, Eighth Lake and Limekiln Lake Campgrounds Unit Management Plan

The public is invited to comment on three draft unit management plans, which will guide management of the Lake Durant, Eighth Lake and Limekiln Lake Campgrounds for the next 5 years. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) will consider all public comments as it finalizes the management plans for the campgrounds. The Campgrounds are located in Hamilton and Herkimer Counties.

The Draft Unit Management Plans for each campground is posted on the NYS DEC web under their respective Campground page at:

Copies of the draft plans are also available on computer disc and may be obtained by calling (518) 457-2500.

NYS DEC will host a public availability session to receive public input on the draft plans and answer questions about campground management on March 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Raquette Lake Union Free School, 115 Route 28, Raquette Lake, NY 13436.

Project Title: Lyme Timber Company

Location: Near County Route 26 in the Town of Franklin, New York.

For Adirondack Park Agency: Comment Period Ends: March 24, 2016

Project Description: The project involves the timber harvesting on a 192 acre portion of Lyme's 18,997 acre Kushaqua Tract, consisting of the overstory removal of an established shelterwood system.

Negative Declaration

Warren County - The Warrensburg Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Lotus Transportation Parking Lot will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the clearing and grading of a currently forested 0.97 ± acre parcel to establish a 50 car gravel parking lot to operate taxi business and off-street parking for adjacent properties. The project is located in the Town of Warrensburg, New York.
