Project Description:

The applicant proposes to rehabilitate the existing dam. The rehabilitation would include replacement of the existing sluice gate system, replacement of existing flash boards with a permanent concrete spillway crest, addition of retain walls, regrade embankment slopes, armor the shoreline, and add concrete behind the spillway. A stone cofferdam will be used to maintain the water level of the lake, and will be completely removed once the rehabilitation is complete. The project is also under review with the APA, project no. 2015-154.

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The Department of Environmental Conservation has tentatively determined to issue a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit modification for the Lake George Escape Family Camping Resort at 175 East Schroon River Road, Town of Lake George. The request entails approving a second subsurface sanitary outfall incorporating septic tanks, pump station and absorption system for a design flow discharge of 4,975 GPD. This work is intended to allow upgrades to the existing facility as required by DEC.

This project is subject to the Department's Environmental Justice Policy and an enhanced public participation plan has been prepared and accepted as a component of application completeness. As part of the plan, a document repository has been established near the project area that contains application and project related materials. Information on the repository location and other outreach components of the plan is available from the identified DEC contact.
