Shandaken State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Semi-Annual Meeting

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is pleased to announce that the next semi-annual public meeting, held per the Shandaken SPDES permit, will be on Thursday February 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the Shandaken Town Hall, 7209 Route 28, Shandaken, NY. NYC DEP will discuss the progress of activities conducted pursuant to the SPDES permit. In case of inclement weather, the snow date is February 29th at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting is open to the public and public input is welcome.

Negative Declaration

Greene County - The Town of New Baltimore, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wastewater Improvement Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves upgrades to an existing Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to address aging equipment and extend the useful life of the facility, including the addition of mechanical grit removal, replacement of catwalks and repainting of the flow equalization basin, replacement and automation of the flow equalization pumps, replacement and automation of the oxidation ditch mixers, addition of two Clarifiers and a Digester, addition of two new RAS/WAS pumps, replacement of effluent disinfection system, automation of the facility and miscellaneous architectural and mechanical system repairs / replacements. The project is located on Route 144 in the Town of New Baltimore, New York.
