Negative Declaration

Albany County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Frueh Mine Site (Limestone Quarry) will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the modification of permit for mining and reclamation of a 5.3 acre Life of Mine (LOM) limestone quarry to expand operations to a 13.2 acre LOM area. The project is located approximately 1,400 feet west of Old Quarry Road (County Route 102), 1,000 feet east of Collabeck Road and approximately 3,400 feet south of the intersection of Collabeck Road and Old Quarry Road (south of Feura Bush) in the Town of Bethlehem, New York.

Otsego County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Otsego RA #16, Stands A-4, 5, 6,10, 16.2 and 17.1 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the application of registered herbicides to undesirable woody and herbaceous plants (beech, ironwood, striped maple and fern) on 116 acres of State forest to create conditions suitable for seed germination and the establishment of desirable (commercial) timber species. The abundance of these undesirable plant species present on the site are growing at a density that interferes with the development of desirable forest regeneration. Herbicide application is the most effective way to eliminate undesirable plant species that interfere with the development of desirable forest regeneration. The project is located on Roseboom Hill Road in the Town of Middlefield, New York.
