The deck will be removed and reconstructed with no expansion and with a new piling configuration which locates the piles in the landward slope of the dune. The existing piles will be removed or cut below grade and abandoned. The applicant proposes to relocate an existing oceanfront house located within the area to receive beach and dune nourishment sand from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's Fire Island to Moriches Inlet Stabilization Project. The existing, 2,289 square foot dwelling will be moved 20 feet to the north on the same parcel and set on a new pile foundation so that the structure will be located outside the footprint of the proposed dune crest. The existing piles located in the dune crest footprint will be cut one foot below grade and abandoned. The existing septic system will be abandoned in place and a new septic system installed in the northwest corner of the parcel, outside the footprint of the proposed dune. The site is located at 77 South Walk in Dunewood, SCTM# 0500-494-02-23.
