Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Empire State Open Women's Tennis Tournament will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by NYS OPRHP to grant a permit for the Empire State Open Tennis Tournament, a Women's Tennis Association event that will run from May 7, 2016 to May 15, 2016 held at the Hempstead Lake State Park and which may reoccur annually. The event will run continuously from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. daily. During the event, the Tournament will have exclusive access to the tennis courts and parking fields. In addition to parking and facilities at Hempstead Lake State Park, the event seeks to utilize additional parking off-site and a shuttle will transport visitors from these lots and from the LIRR station in Rockville Centre to the event. As part of the permit, Empire State Open will carry out improvements to existing tennis court facilities including maintenance of 12 red clay courts, resurfacing hard courts, and possibly repairing school court. The project is located at the Hempstead Lake State Park on Lakeside Drive in West Hempstead, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Suffolk County - The Town Board Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Tuckahoe Center Zone Change. The action involves a proposal to rezone three adjoining properties along the southeasterly side of Country Road 39 in the Hamlet of Tuckahoe from Highway Business (HB), to Shopping Center Business (SCB), and a portion of a fourth parcel which adjoins the northeasterly side of Magee Street in the Hamlet of Tuckahoe, from Residential (R-20) to Shopping Center Business (SCB).

The proposed SCB zone would encompass a total of 7.2569 acres and would facilitate redevelopment of the site to construct a 40,000 square foot supermarket, an 8,400 square foot building and a 6,600 square foot building for supporting retail and commercial uses and a 3,500 square foot bank with 217 proposed parking spaces and a 46,488 square foot municipal access easement. The project is located at 434 and 450 County Road 39 in the Town of Southampton , New York
