Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Suffolk County - The Village of East Hampton Zoning Board of Appeals, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed 23 Main Street, LLC. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on November 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at 1 Cedar Street, East Hampton, NY 11937. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until November 30, 2015. The Draft EIS is available from the contact listed below and on line at: http://www.easthamptonvillage.org/.

The action involves the expansion of the existing gross floor area of a retail space from 604 square feet to 962 square feet on the ground floor by eliminating the apartment on the first floor, thus reducing the livable floor area of the apartment from approximately 1,290 square feet to 908 square feet. The Village Code requires 1 parking space for each 200 square feet of gross floor area of retail space and 2 parking spaces for each apartment. The proposed project requires 7 parking spaces. The application has been amended to propose 1 on-site parking space at the rear of the subject property, which is accessed via an existing easement over neighboring properties. This reduces the number of required parking spaces for which a variance is sought from 7 spaces to 6 spaces. The project is located at 23 Main Street in the Incorporated Village of East Hampton, New York.
