Project Description:

The applicant proposes to conduct restoration of the Bronx Blvd Northbound and Soutbound Bridges over the Bronx River at the intersection of E Gun Hill Rd. The proposed project includes disturbance of approximately 0.2 acres, clearing and grubbing, excavation of approximately 225 CYs of streambed by hydraulic dredge, fill, erosion and sediment control including geotubes, and embankment work.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Oct 22, 2015.

The Applicant proposes to restore the Loch by selectively removing portions of accumulated sediment in order to widen and deepen segments of the watercourse. Approximately 3,200 cubic yards will be removed from a total area of 21,000 square feet. The project is located in Central Park, New York.
