Project Description:

Due to the proximity of the existing dwelling to the existing bulkhead, the applicant proposes to construct 63 linear feet of new bulkhead within 24 inches seaward and up to 18 inches higher than the existing bulkhead. Dredge the area no greater than 8 feet off shore of the new bulkhead to a depth of 4 feet below apparent low water and use the resultant 25 cubic yards of dredged material as backfill for the bulkhead. Remove 142 square feet of cantilevered decking and remove the existing ramp and floats and reinstall after construction of the bulkhead. The project is located at 324 Roosevelt Avenue, Freeport, Town of Hempstead, Nassau County.
