Whiteface Mountain Ski Center Unit Management Plan Amendment

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has completed this Draft Unit Management Plan Amendment to the 2004 Whiteface Mountain Ski Center Unit Management Plan and Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement. The amendment proposes improvements to Porcupine Lodge to expand its current use as a ski patrol outpost to also serve as a warming shelter with light food and beverage service for the public. This includes the construction of a 30 foot x 30 foot deck adjacent to the Lodge.

The Whiteface Mountain Ski Center is located in the Town of Wilmington, Essex County, New York.

Comments are welcome and will be accepted by the contact person until October 22, 2015. The Draft Unit Management Plan amendment is posted on the NYS DEC website at: http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/90459.html.

Clinton County - The Town of Plattsburgh Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Nova Bus Site Plan 2015 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a request to construct a 14,000 ± square foot customer inspection facility, expansion of existing employee parking by 69 additional spaces and an approximately 22,400 ± square foot bus parking area. Minimum modification of the existing stormwater facility are also proposed. The project is located at 260 Banker Road in the Town of Plattsburgh, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Saratoga County - The Town of Wilton Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Adoption of the Town of Wilton Comprehensive Land use Plan Update 2015. The Draft EIS is available from the contact listed below.

The action involves the adoption of a Draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update 2015. The plan describes the Town of Wilton including but not limited to the Town's environmental setting, natural and cultural resources, land use, population and governmental services. The Draft Comprehensive Land Use Update also contains policies, goals, objectives and recommendations for the short and long term protection, growth and enhancement of the Town of Wilton. The project is located throughout the Town of Wilton, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Saratoga County - The South Glens Falls Central School District as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed South Glens Falls Central School District Capital Project. The Final EIS is available from M. Patton, South Glens Falls Central School District,6 Bluebird Road, South Glens Falls, NY 12803 and on line at: sgfcsd.org.

The action involves (i) various renovations, replacements, upgrades and other improvements to the existing Ballard Elementary School, Tanglewood Elementary School, Moreau Elementary School, Harrison Avenue Elementary School, Oliver W. Winch Middle School, South Glens Falls High School, Administration Offices and the Facilities Department, including building envelope and structural improvements, mechanical and plumbing system improvements, electrical system improvements, interior improvements, and site improvements; (ii) the construction of additions to existing facilities, including up to approximately 15,000 square feet of additions to Ballard Elementary School, up to approximately 6,000 square feet of additions to Tanglewood Elementary School, and up to approximately 22,000 square feet of additions to South Glens Falls High School; (iii) the adaptive reuse of the existing bus maintenance facility located at the Oliver W. Winch Middle School; (iv) the construction of a new transportation facility of approximately 30,000 square feet, together with associated parking surfaces and roadways as a replacement for the existing bus maintenance facility on the Harrison Avenue campus; and (v) the sale of the existing Central Administration and Facilities Department properties.
