Project Description:

The Department has prepared a Draft Permit and has made a tentative determination to issue a new State Facility Permit for the continued operation of an existing hot mix asphaltic concrete plant, currently operating under a registration, consisting of: 1) a 300 tph rotary natural gas fired counterflow drum mix dryer having particulate emissions controlled with a fabric filter, limiting production to 700,000 tpy; 2) three 200 ton heated silos to store asphaltic concrete; 3) a 910 kW (1341hp) Caterpillar diesel fired 3508B generator set to serve the drum mix asphalt dryer; 4) a 680 kW generator set on a concrete drop plant; 5) a 317 kW generator set on PORT 1; 6) a "portable" crusher capable of processing 215 tons per hour to be powered by the 317 kW CAT diesel generator set; 7) a "portable" screening unit powered by a 4.4 liter (75 kW) CAT diesel gen set.

The asphaltic concrete plant, the crusher and screens are subject to New Source Performance Standards. Production limits will be established so that potential emissions remain less than the major source thresholds.

Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve a new mining permit application by T&K Harrington LLC to mine sand and gravel from a 5.4 acre life-of-mine on a 16.8 acre parcel owned by the applicant. The site has been previously disturbed by mining activity below the threshold for DEC permitting. Screening and crushing of gravel will occur 2-3 times per year. Drainage shall be internally. Reclamation shall be to wildlife-meadow habitat. The application is available for review in the Cortland Office.

Project Description:

The Village of Trumansburg is applying to take a supply of water for use in the existing system by installation of new Wells Nos. 3 and 4 having an installed pumping capacity of 300 and 500 gallons per minute (gpm) respectively. Existing Well No. 1 is authorized by a previous water supply approval and has been refurbished for continued use, and the existing Hoffmire Well will remain in service for emergency use only. The approved water supply sources for this system include four wells with a maximum daily taking of 720,000 gallons per day (gpd). The permit issued for this proposed activity will be a consolidation of all of the Village of Trumansburg previous water supply approvals and will supersede all previously approved water supply permits.
