Negative Declaration

New York County (Manhattan) - The City University of New York (CUNY), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hunter College Acquisition of 151 East 67th Street Building will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by CUNY to purchase, on behalf of Hunter College, an existing six story (plus basement), approximately 26,158 gross square foot building that is currently used by the Kennedy Child Study Center, a school for children with disabilities that is owned by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. The building, which is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan within the immediate vicinity of the Hunter College campus, would be used by Hunter College for academic programming, including classrooms and faculty offices specifically related to Hunter College's Theater Program. Space programming and renovation plans for the building's interior would be developed at some future time. The project is located at 151 East 67th Street in the Borough of Manhattan, New York.
