The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from BCA & Associates, LLC for a site known as 486 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre, site ID #C130220. This site is located in the Village of Rockville Centre, within the County of Nassau, and is located at 486 Sunrise Highway. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than October 9, 2015. A copy of the application and other relevant documents are available at the document repository located at the Rockville Centre Public Library, 221 North Village Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY 11570. Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Brookhaven Board of Zoning Appeals, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Special Permit for Bed and Breakfast will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the issuance of a special permit for approvals to provide for a bed and breakfast at the north west corner of Main Street and Harbor Road in Stony Brook, Town of Brookhaven, New York. No alterations or physical changes to the premises are intended to occur. Three bedrooms for patrons of the bed and breakfast facility are proposed.

Suffolk County - The Suffolk County Department of Health Services, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Sylvester Manor Educational Farm will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. Sylvester Manor Educational Farm is on the National Registry of Historic Site. The current application is for the construction of five (5) temporary rooming cottages (195 square feet each) for the farm's seasonal workers, a temporary bathroom trailer (160 square feet), temporary kitchen trailer (320 square feet), and the installation of an onsite drinking water well and onsite sewage disposal system to serve the new structures on the site. The method of sewage disposal will be through the use of a grease trap, septic tank, recirculating gravel filter, and leaching pools. The onsite sewage disposal system is designed to promote the reduction of total effluent nitrogen as compared to a conventional onsite sewage disposal system. The proposed kitchen and bathroom trailers shall be used by the seasonal workers, summer educational youth program participants (approximately 80 individuals}, and visitors to the farm (approximately 40 visitors per day}.The project is located at 80 North Ferry Road in Shelter Island, New York.
