Project Description:

The Village of Sodus Point is proposing the placement of approximately 500 linear feet of stone rip rap along a section of eroding Sodus Bay shoreline to protect an existing watermain. Additionally, the creation of a partial living shoreline/vegetated buffer will be included as part of the project.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

A cultural resources survey has been completed and cultural resources were identified. Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no adverse impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Project Description:

The applicant is proposing the control of approximately 19 acres of Phragmites australis, an invasive plant species, within and adjacent to the Campbell Marsh area within the Oak Orchard Wildlife Management Areas. A registered aquatic herbicide (Glyphosate) will be applied through a low volume spray or directly applied to the individual plants. The goal of the project is to maintain habitat quality for the benefit of native wildlife species.
