Shandaken SPDES Semi-Annual Meeting

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is pleased to announce that the next semi-annual public meeting, held per the Shandaken SPDES permit, will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26th, at the Schoharie Watershed Office, 6049 Main Street, Tannersville NY. NYC DEP will discuss the progress of activities conducted pursuant to the SPDES permit.

The meeting is open to the public and public input is welcome.

Negative Declaration

Delaware County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed J&A Sand & Gravel, Inc., Antunes Mine will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by the applicant to continue operation of a 4.8 ± acre life-of-mine surface unconsolidated sand and gravel mine and proposes an expansion of the existing life-of-mine with an additional 7.6 acres for a total of 12.6 acre life-of-mine. Processing will include screening and crushing. There is no dewatering proposed and no off-site discharge. The project is located at Trout Brook Road and State Highway 30 in the Town of Colchester, New York.
