Project Description:

Applicant proposes to use rip rap stone for erosion protection along 410 feet of Oneida Lake shoreline. The toe of the stone will be keyed in to the bed of the lake approximately 12 inches, and geotextile fabric will be used as a stabilized base for the stone. The stone will be layered approximately six to eight inches deep. A turbidity curtain will be used around the entire site to prevent any turbid discharge into the lake. Appropriate erosion controls will be used and disturbed surfaces will be immediately stabilized and seeded. The project is located along the southern shore of Oneida Lake in the town of Cicero, Onondaga County.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Evaluation using a Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form or other information has concluded that the proposed activity will not impact registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Aug 06, 2015.

Project Description:

The applicant, Austin's Excavating and Paving, Inc. is applying to operate a formerly permitted sand and gravel mine located on Ellistown Road, south of State Route 17 (I-86) in the Town of Barton, County of Tioga. Applicant is proposing to add 2.56 new acres west of existing mine site for a total of 14.27 acre life-of-mine within a 23.33 acre parcel of land owned by Ann M. Rosh.
