Project Title: National Grid - Pole Replacement and Installation

Location: NYS Route 9N in the Town of Lake George, New York.

Project Description: The replacement of 21 utility poles and the installation of 3 new utility poles within the Route 9N right-of-way in the Town of Lake George. The existing poles range in height from 29.5 to 34 feet, on average. The replacement poles will be 38.5 feet in height above existing grades except for utility poles 321, 322, 324 and 324 ½ which will be 61, 52, 43, and 52 feet above existing grades, respectively. The increased height of poles 321, 322, 324 and 324 1/2 is necessary to improve ground clearances over the Northway (I-87) and the increase in height of the other poles is to improve ground clearances along the state highway. There will be minimal vegetative cutting along the road right-of-way to undertake the project.

Negative Declaration

Saratoga County - The Town of Ballston Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Rossi/Ballston Spa National Bank Major Subdivision with a Walmart Store will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by the applicants, Walmart Stores East, LP (Walmart), Frank and Rose Marie Rossi (Rossi) and the Ballston Spa National Bank (BSNB) for the subdivision of lands held by Rossi and BSNB into six (6) lots with a road right-of-way created therein (Major Subdivision) and the construction of a new Walmart retail store comprising approximately 137,000 square feet and several related improvements on Lot 1 of the Major Subdivision, and construction of other improvements, such as a parking lot, access drives for ingress and egress, a bus stop shelter, landscaping, fencing, a stormwater management basin system, utility connections, and certain traffic-related improvements on and around Church Avenue/New York State Route 50 and New York State Route 67. The proposed store will include general merchandise, grocery, and related services. The project is located on three lots along Church Street in Town of Ballston, New York.
