Project Description:

Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District proposes to armour three sections of stream bank along c(ts) class Dutch Hollow Brook with rip rap stone. The project will impact approximately 320 feet of stream bank along a 700 foot stretch of stream. The banks will have a 2:1 slope and geotextile fabric will be used as a base for the stone. Accumulated sediment will be removed from gravel bars to a depth consistent with the surrounding stream bed. Temporary cofferdams will be used to divert water around the active construction sites. The project is located in the town of Owasco along the section of Dutch Hollow Brook that runs between North Road and Martin Road.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jul 23, 2015.
