Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Babylon, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Oak Beach Water System DWSRG/SMLP No. 18144 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. Comments on this Draft Negative Declaration will be accepted until May 14, 2015

The action involves the combining of three separate public water systems into one system; the creation of a special assessment area (including only the homes to be served by the proposed public water system); to elevate, enclose, install pumps and backup power to three supply wells to minimize the probability of well damage and disruption of service during future flooding events; the construction of a water treatment plant; to construct an upgraded distribution system and to provide a code compliant public water system with improved resiliency to 57 homes at Oak Beach, New York. The project is located at various locations in the Oak Beach, Town of Babylon, New York.
