Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this EBPS modification of a SPDES permit for an existing discharge of 195,000 gallons per day of un-treated stormwater wastewater from secondary containment and loading rack areas to Port Jefferson Harbor and Groundwater, at the applicant's facility located at Northville Industries Corp., 19 Belle Meade Road, East Setauket, NY.

New information recently submitted to the Department indicates the permit should be modified to include a change in the discharge flow from monitor to 195,000 gallons per day. The permit should be modified to include a change from no sampling to requiring sampling for Outfalls 003, 04B, and 04C for pH, Oil & Grease, Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Total Xylene, Chrysene, Fluorene, Naphthalene, and Pyrene. The permit should be modified to include sampling for Chrysene, Fluorene, Naphthalene, and Pyrene, and the elimination of sampling for MTBE for Outfalls 001, 03A, and 04A. The permit should be modified to include the elimination of Chlorine from Outfalls 03A and 04A. Refer to this modification by the application number listed above and SPDES number, NY0025828.

The applicant proposes the following activities within the 100 foot adjacent area of a NYS regulated freshwater wetland (FWW# BE-17): raise and repile an existing dwelling, construct 1st and 2nd story additions and roof deck, install platform and steps, expand a screened porch, reconstruct a porch and deck, and remove concrete walks and replace with pavers. The new platform and steps will be located within 46 feet of the freshwater wetland boundary and the closest addition will be located within 50 feet of the freshwater wetland boundary. Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install a new drainage system on Spur Drive South to alleviate an on-going flooding problem. The water collected is proposed to be discharged through a pipe onto a 10' x 15' pad of trap rock located at the northwest corner of Spur Drive South and the entrance ramp to the east bound Southern State Parkway. The proposed project is located in a NYSDEC regulated freshwater wetland on the north and south sides of Spur Drive South in the vicinity of 1812 & 1818 Spur Drive South, Islip Terrace, Town of Islip in Suffolk County, SCTM# 500-251-01-01.
