Project Description:

Applicant proposes to operate a temporary dewatering system to facilitate the construction of sanitary and stormwater sewers east of Prospect Street from Wave Street to Thompson Street in Staten Island with a maximum withdrawal of 1,440,000 gallons per day. Pumped groundwater is to be directed to existing interceptor sewers on Front Street which discharge to the Port Richmond WPCP.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes the development of three (3) commercial, small retail and light industrial buildings and associated parking on a site located between the southern terminus of Industrial Loop and Johnson Street, where both streets intersect with Arthur Kill Road. The project straddles the AR-7 Claypit Ponds Freshwater Wetland and includes 0.03 acres of wetland disturbance to accommodate improvements to provide a connecting access road from Johnson Street. Mitigation to offset wetland impacts includes nine hundred (900) square feet of stabilization planting, 2,400 square feet of restoration consisting of tire and debris removal and installation of a thirty (30) foot deed restricted planted buffer area between the restored wetland and the building and parking areas. Also, the results of a traffic analysis determined that the total vehicular trips generated by the project would fall below the relevant CEQR Technical Manual threshold level for this location.
