Proposed Amendment to Wetland Maps

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 24 (Freshwater Wetlands Act) of the NYS ECL and 6 NYCRR Part 664 that New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) proposes to amend Saratoga County Freshwater Wetland Map 19 of 28 to revise the boundary of Q-21, a Class 1 wetland. Maps showing the proposed revision are available at the clerk's office in the village, town and county where the change is taking place, as well as at the NYS DEC - Region 5 Sub Office, 232 Golf Course Road, Warrensburg, NY.

Written comments on the accuracy of the proposed changes to the maps may be mailed to the person listed below through March 1, 2015. No activity subject to regulation under the Freshwater Wetlands Act may be initiated without a permit from NYS DEC within the area that is the subject of the proposal (including the 100 foot wetland adjacent area).

The project involves wetlands, two temporary bridges for construction, relocating utilities, vegetative cutting and shoreline stabilization. The bridges are located on NYS Route 73 in the Town of Keene, Essex County.

Project Description: The action involves construction of a wood road involving a wetland crossing and requiring 1,085 ± square feet of wetland disturbance, including fill and installation of a culvert. On-site wetland mitigation of 2,100 ± square feet is proposed. The purpose of the wood road is to provide access to the rear (northwest) acreage of the project site for timber harvesting.

Project Description: The applicant is seeking approval for a new commercial use (Hardware Store) to be located in an existing residential structure served by on-site wastewater treatment system and on-site water supply.


Negative Declaration

Washington County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Korb Gravel Mine Expansion will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by the applicant for a 12.0 ± acre expansion of an existing 5.0 ± acre Life of Mine sand and gravel mine on a 39.3 ± acre parcel of land on the west side of Gannon Road, approximately 0.5 miles north of the intersection of Gannon Road and County Route 59A in the Town of Cambridge, New York. The mine will continue to be operated as a traditional surface opening extraction with mechanical excavation and processing by screening. No material washing or mining below the water table is proposed.
