ENB - Region 1 Notices 1/28/2015

Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Tiana Beach Emergency Levee Construction Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of an emergency dune/levee along approximately 3,450 linear feet of ocean beach, within Tiana Beach Town Park and a contiguous section of Suffolk County parkland, by trucking in and grading up to 70,000 cubic yards of clean uncontaminated compatible beach sand fill landward of spring high water. The sand will initially be stockpiled within the Town of Southampton Tiana Beach parking lot, then placed and shaped into an emergency levee configuration and dune, using pay loaders, bulldozers and other heavy earth moving equipment. The project is located 0, 72, 90 and 188 Dune Road and WOSI Offshore Borrow Area 6C in Hampton Bays, Town of Southampton, New York.

Suffolk County - The Village of Southampton Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed 9 Main Street Site Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the conversion of an existing 1 story, 2 tenant building into a 2 story, 1 tenant building occupied by dry retail and an associated 16 seat coffee/juice bar, located on a 3,822 square foot lot within the Village Business (VB) Zoning District. The existing sub-surface sanitary system will be removed and replaced with a new conforming system to be located largely on land owned by the Village of Southampton. A parking variance will be required from the Village Zoning Board of Appeals. The parcel is located at 9 Main Street in the Village of Southampton. Main Street is entirely located within the Southampton Historic District. The project is located at 9 Main Street in the Town of Southampton, New York.

Suffolk County - The Town of Shelter Island, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Revision of Local Law regarding Irrigation will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Town of Shelter Island has had a law limiting irrigation for over 20 years. The law had an amortized phase out of all irrigation by 2013. This law is a modification of the original law to allow existing legal irrigation systems to continue under specific terms. It also allows new irrigation systems that are fed by off-island water contained in a cistern. It requires annual permits for all irrigation systems to allow ongoing monitoring of the impacts. It upgrades the technology for allowed irrigation systems to require that they be updated to be more efficient. The project is located throughout the Town of Shelter Island, New York.
