Project Description:

Applicant proposes to dredge an area of approximately 3,000 square feet in Poolville Pond and use approximately 150 cubic yards of sand and washed pea stone fill to create an evenly sloped swimming and beach area. Dredged materials will be moved to an upland location and secured so as to not be allowed to reenter the water body. All excavation and fill will be performed from the shore and no machinery will be allowed to enter the water. The entire excavation site will be isolated from the rest of the pond using a floating turbidity curtain. The location of the proposed project is on the western shore of Poolville Pond in the town of Hamilton, Madison County.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jan 29, 2015.

Project Description:

Extension of existing shooting range path by approx. 40 yards, and construction of new backstop to allow for ammunition reclamation within freshwater wetland MO-9. Minimal fill required. New shooting shed will also be constructed within the adjacent area of freshwater wetland MO-9.
