Proposed Amendment to Wetland Maps

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 24 (Freshwater Wetlands Act) of the NYS ECL and 6 NYCRR Part 664 that New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) proposes to amend portions of Chautauqua County Freshwater Wetland Maps 4, 5, 10, 11, 14, 20 and 21 of 25. The wetland amendments are located in the Towns of Dunkirk, Pomfret, Sheridan, Sherman and Mina; the City of Dunkirk and the Village of Fredonia. The wetland amendments consist of additions of 19 unmapped wetlands; revisions to the boundaries of 7 wetlands and classification changes of 5 wetlands. Maps showing the proposed revision are available at the clerk's office in the city, village, town and county where the change is taking place, as well as at the NYS DEC - Region 9 Office, Allegany, NY. Written comments on the accuracy of the proposed changes to the maps may be mailed to the person listed below through February 20, 2015. No activity subject to regulation under the Freshwater Wetlands Act may be initiated without a permit from NYS DEC within the area that is the subject of the proposal including the 100 foot wetland adjacent area.

Negative Declaration

Erie County - The Town of Clarence Zoning Board of Appeals, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wehrle Dome Mixed Use Development will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the redevelopment of an approximately 15.5 acre property for residential and commercial purposes. The redevelopment will include 112 upscale apartments; the reuse of an existing 11,240 square foot commercial building and a commercial building with a size of 15,280 square feet. The project is located 8230 Wehrle Drive in the Town of Clarence, New York.
