Availability of the Draft Scope for the Environmental Impact Statement for the Modification of the Carver Sand and Gravel LLC Masick Mined Land Reclamation Permit.

Middleburgh (T), Schoharie County

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed modification to the NYS DEC Mined Land Reclamation Permit for the proposed 49 acre expansion of the current 105 acre Masick Pit quarry (for a total proposed life of mine of 154 acres) may have a significant adverse impact on the environment (Positive Declaration) and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) must be prepared. In addition, NYS DEC will conduct a formal scoping process to receive public comments on the scope of the Draft EIS. A Draft Scoping Document has been prepared by the project sponsor and is currently being circulated for public comment.
