ENB - Region 6 Notices 12/24/2013
Oneida County - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Route 12D Boonville Safety Improvement Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the reconstruction of an intersection adjacent to the National Register Boonville Historic District at Schuyler Street and Main Street. The reconfiguration of the intersection will help to delineate travel lanes and reduce conflicts between motorists and pedestrians. The curblines around the Triangle Park within the Historic District will remain unchanged, however, approximately 100 square feet will be acquired at the Schuyler Street and Route 46 intersection to accommodate an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant crossing. New ornamental signal poles will replace the existing span wire and will require the removal of two immature maple trees on the corner of the park. Other architectural elements will be included in the project's design including ornamental trees, benches and lighting with turf or paver blocks used in pavement reduction areas. The project is located in the Village of Boonville, New York.
