Negative Declaration

Orange County - The Town Board of the Town of Newburgh, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Putnam Street and Boulder Road Rezoning, Road Discontinuance and Water Utility Easement Acceptance will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan Update of the Town of Newburgh providing for the rezoning of an approximately 1.84 acre area of land on Putnam Street and Boulder Road from R-3 (Residential) to the adjacent IB (Interchange Business) District Zoning on petition of the owner of properties comprising most of the rezoned area; the adoption of a local law amending the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the Town of Newburgh which will implement the proposed Comprehensive Plan Update Amendment, the discontinuance and abandonment of a terminal section of Boulder Road on petition of the same owner whose properties abut the terminal section on both sides as unnecessary for public highway purposes, the conveyance of the property underlying said road section to the abutting owner for fair market consideration, subject to the Town's retention of a utility easement for an existing municipal water main; the acceptance of a utility easement for a section of an existing municipal water main which was installed across the petitioning owner's property without an easement having been previously obtained by the Town; and the approval of a Developer's Agreement between the petitioning owner and the Town pursuant to which the property owner agrees to certain conditions on the future development of the rezoned properties. The project is located at Putnam Street and Boulder Road in the Town of Newburgh, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Westchester County - The Town of Cortlandt, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Hanover Estates Subdivision. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on January 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Vincent F. Nyberg General Meeting Room at the Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady Street, Cortlandt Manor, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted for ten (10) days following the close of the Public Hearing. The Draft EIS is available from the Planning Office, Cortlandt Town Hall, 1 Heady Street, Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567; the John C, Hart Library, 1130 Main Street, Shrub Oak, NY 10588 and on line at: www.townofcortlandt.com.

The action involves a proposed conventional subdivision for a 26 lot major subdivision (25 building lots and 1 conservation parcel) and other related site improvements and for Wetland, Steep Slope and Tree Removal Permits of a 35.9 acre parcel of property. The project is located n the east side of Croton Avenue, north of Furnace Dock Road in Cortlandt Manor, Town of Cortlandt, New York.
