Project Description:

The applicant proposes to remove approximately 200 feet of existing timber wall along the shoreline of Slater Creek at the Slater Creek Fishing Access Site in the Town of Greece, Monroe County. The wall is beginning to fail and will be removed and disposed at an upland site. The bank will be graded to create a more gentle 3:1 slope and seed and mulched. This will allow emergent vegetation to be established and provide more habitat in the creek. The existing stone that is located landward of the wall will remain in place for erosion control. A landscaping plan has been provided listing the tree and shrub species to be planted along the southern half of the project area.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes the development of a new materials recovery and transfer facility (MRF/TS) on a 12.43 acre site. The proposed facility's capacity would be 950 tons per day of material comprised of household, commercial and institutional waste. The proposed facility operations include: construction and demolition debris processing and recycling, municipal solid waste recycling and transfer and single-stream recyclables handling. Materials will be handled in a proposed 11,970 square foot building. In addition to the required 6 NYCRR Part 360 Solid Waste Management Permit, the proposed operations would also need to obtain coverage under the NYS SPDES Multi-Sector General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Industrial Activity for which a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan has been prepared. In accordance with NYSDEC Commissioner Policy - 29, and the Environmental Justice Public Participation Plan, the applicant will be holding a public information meeting to solicit comments and feedback from the public on the proposed project. The public participation meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2013 at 7:00pm at the Silvarole Trucking Facility located at 85 Silvarole Drive, Henrietta.
