Positive Declaration and Public Scoping
Nassau County - The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Great Neck Estates, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Application for Subdivision - 24 Amherst Road may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Written comments on the draft scope will be accepted by the contact person listed below until 5:00 p.m. December 19, 2013. A public scoping session will be held on December 9, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at Village of Great Neck Estates Village Hall, 4 Atwater Plaza, Great Neck, NY 11021. The action involves the application for subdivision of property located at 24 Amherst Road in the Village Great Neck Estates, New York. Specifically, the proposed action includes the subdivision of a 0.73 acre parcel into two residential building lots that will be equally divided, each approximately 0.37 acre in size. An existing single family residence and a man-made pond on the subject property would be removed.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing
Nassau County - The Incorporated Village of Old Westbury Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Old Westbury Campus Improvements. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on January 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village of Old Westbury Hearing Room, 1 Store Hill Road; Old Westbury, NY 11568-0290. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until February 20, 2014. The Draft EIS is available from the: Incorporated Village of Old Westbury; Office of the Village Administrator; 1 Store Hill Road, P.O. The action involves the Application for Modification of Special Use Permit and Site Plan Approval to allow the construction of seven new buildings totaling 282,778 square feet, including four residence hall buildings with a total capacity of 699 beds, campus commons, executive office building, and academic building, (which is being considered for future development). Proposed ancillary features include new and reconfigured/expanded driveways, walkways, parking areas, drainage infrastructure, and landscaping; an open-loop geothermal system to heat and cool the new buildings; and an upgrade to the existing on-site sewage treatment. The project is located south side of Northern Boulevard (New York State Route 25A), west of Whitney Lane in the Village of Old Westbury and the Village of Brookville, Town of Oyster Bay, New York.
