The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Amended Negative Declaration

Oswego County - The Town of Scriba Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Novelis Corporation Scrap Storage Building Project, Scrap Dryers, Finishing Line #3 and Pusher Furnace will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves an 82,800 square foot storage building to receive and store scrap and to make changes to improve on-site traffic flow, to include two (2) new truck entrances and a trailer drop lot, as well as new security entrances to the existing Oswego Works facility.

The project will also include the installation of Scrap Dryers in the storage building, the installation of a 125,000 square foot finishing line # 3 building adjacent to the 190,000 square foot lines # 1 and 2 building constructed in 2011, all abutting the Cold Mill expansion, together with a pusher furnace installation in the existing building.

The total project will occupy approximately 11 ± acres of property all currently owned by Novelis Corporation and contained within the boundaries of the its existing 505 ± acre parcel.

The project is located at 448 County Route 1A in the Town of Scriba, New York.
