Project Description:

Repair existing 36' x 6' concrete dock (Dock 1) by capping with sheetpiling and concrete. Add an extension on the end of the dock consisting of prefabricated concrete stackable rings approximately 5' in diameter. Install a concrete boat ramp 25' long by 12' wide. Install a solid 8' by 80' breakwater/dock (Dock 2) perpendicular to the existing dock and approximately 8' waterward of the end of it. This dock will be constructed of two steel shipping containers, reinforced internally with I-beams and filled with rocks. Existing deteriorated cribs will be removed and the rock reused in Dock 2.

Project Description:

The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation will be remediating 430 linear feet of PCB contaminated sediment and soils along Sauquoit Creek and 340 linear feet along an unnamed tributary of Sauquoit Creek. The excavation area is estimated to be 7,244 square feet and 2,753 cubic yards of material. The restored area and tributaries will mimic existing stream slope and sinuosity as well as channel depth and width. The site will be re-graded to facilitate runoff and shallow groundwater discharging to the ground surface. Bordering riparian areas will be restored to replace existing functions and values with 550 new tree plantings consisting of Silver maple, Shagbark hickory, Gray birch, Cottonwood, Black cherry, and White pine.
