Withdrawal of Positive Declaration and Public Scoping
Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Caithness Long Island Energy Center II, LLC may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared.
Withdrawal of Notice: The notice published by the Town Board of the Town of Brookhaven concerning scoping for the Caithness Long Island Energy Center II, LLC project in the October 16, 2013 Environmental Notice Bulletin is hereby withdrawn.
The proposed project involves the construction and operation of a dual-fuel combined-cycle generating facility on an approximately 81.3 acre parcel located in the L-Industrial-1 Zone (Light Industry) of the Town of Brookhaven. The combined-cycle electric generating facility will utilize two F-Class heavy duty combustion turbines with one steam turbine.
On August 1, 2013, the Town Board of the Town of Brookhaven released a draft scoping document for the proposed action for public review and comment. In accordance with a notice published in the ENB, Newsday and the South Shore Press, a public scoping meeting was held on August 28, 2013 and written comments on the draft scoping document were accepted through September 16, 2013. The public comment period on the draft scope is closed. The final scoping document is being prepared.
In accordance with 6 NYCRR 617.8(g) and (h), any comment received after the issuance of the final scoping document may be incorporated into the draft environmental impact statement (Draft EIS) or, if not incorporated, may be treated as a comment to the Draft EIS.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Comment Period Extension
Nassau County - The Incorporated Village of Great Neck Estates Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Business D Incentive Zoning Application of GN Properties, LLC. The comment on the Draft EIS has been extended and the comment will now be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on November 4, 2013. The Draft EIS is available from the Incorporated Village of Great Neck Estates, Village Hall, Atwater Plaza, 4 Gateway Drive, Great Neck, NY 11021 and on line at: http://www.vgne.com.
The action involves a proposal by GN Properties, LLC to demolish an existing one story mixed-use building (with medical offices, gym, restaurant and vacant retail space), and to construct a 40 unit, three-story multi-family residential building on an approximately 1.22 acre parcel. The proposed residential use would have two vehicular access points on Middle Neck Road. Eighty-two parking spaces would be provided, with 41 spaces on grade and 41 spaces below grade beneath the building. In order to construct the proposed multi-family residential building, GN Properties, LLC is seeking a change in zoning classification from Business D Zoning District and Residence B Zoning District to Business D Incentive Zoning District from the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Great Neck Estates.
The project is located at 212-230 Middle Neck Road in the Incorporated Village of Great Neck Estates, New York.
