Project Description:

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to renew and modify an existing permitted mine from 8.9 acres by adding 9.65 acres to the Life of Mine (LOM) for a new total LOM of 18.55 acres. No other changes to the mining operation are proposed. The mine is located on Earl Road, approximately 500 feet from the northern intersection with State Route 7, Town of Unadilla, Otsego County, New York.

SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Based on the information provided in cultural resources survey reports for this project, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have an impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. Measures have been undertaken in consultation with OPRHP to avoid or mitigate impacts to registered or eligible resources. These agreed upon measures conclude the SHPA review.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
