Project Description:

The applicant proposes to modify an existing mining permit to extract and process consolidated bedrock (shale) which lies below the existing sand and gravel. Once the unconsolidated sand and gravel has been removed, the exposed bedrock will be drilled and blasted to fragment the rock for removal and processing using the existing crushing and screening plant. Blasting is proposed occur no more than once a month.
