ENB - Region 1 Notices 8/28/2013

Public Notice

Amendments of the Final Freshwater Wetlands Maps for Nassau County:

Subsequent to the promulgation of the final Freshwater Wetlands Maps for Nassau County in July 1984, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) Staff found an inaccuracy affecting Map 2 of 15. Having fully investigated this site, NYS DEC Staff sent notice of the proposed amendment to the affected landowners and published notice in local newspapers and in the Environmental Notice Bulletin (ENB). NYS DEC Staff reviewed public comments received during the comment period. Upon review of NYS DEC Staff's findings and recommendations relative to this matter, the NYS DEC Commissioner was satisfied that NYS DEC Staff appropriately responded to all oral and written comments on the proposed amendment, and that NYS DEC Staff's recommendations were consistent with the requirements of the Freshwater Wetlands Act and supported by the record. The NYS DEC Commissioner ordered that the boundary of Wetland BV-7 be revised on Map 2 of 15 for Nassau County, effective August 28, 2013. A copy of the final map will be filed with the office of the clerk of each affected local government and in the NYS DEC Region 1 Office, Stony Brook, NY.
